This afternoon Jesse let me watch as he taped segments for his religion show on Rogers. A real treat to spend time around The Man. I'm such a dweeb fan of Jesse Hirsh.
I submitted a piece I wrote about Tod Maffin, who it turns out is too sacred for analysis and questioning. It was labeled a "vicious personal attack".
I posted it here after it was rejected. Apparently, in joe clark's world I have no right to say these things. It's an attack. It's personal. It's vicious.
Yet, from my view, anyone could have written it. I think it was a legitimate question. In fact, if I remember correctly, Tod Maffin set up the CBC Facebook account without anyone's permission, including the use of the logo. Would someone care to confirm that one way or the other?
So you work part-time at the New York Times and you go home and start a Facebook group called The New York Times and use its logo. All without permission. You pretend you have a right to do that.
I'd like to know, when did Tod Maffin get permission to do that? and who is it that grants that permission?
I think what Tod is doing is not cool, and I think it matters. I think it demonstrates how witless the CBC is, especially about the internet, and corporate responsibility.
I thought of it, and would love to do a video bit with you, in fact several to see if we can happen on something entertaining. I am mindful that trying to pair oneself next to Jesse Hirsh would be like John Gray standing next to Anthony Robbins - what chance do I have?
Ya, it would be lame if all you did was complement me. Rather what would make it interesting is that we both see the world in ways that are unusual. Maybe the next iPhone will have video? Or a firmware upgrade?

That's a familiar face.

Nice!
At work, we call this a "man crush."
Now, what have you been doing to bug Fake Ouimet?

I fully realize that no one cares.
Whoa...I wasn't disagreeing with you...
The real question is what does all this Tod crap have to do with my photo. ;)
Allan if only the iPhone had video capability we could have shot a funny short vid...
The iPhone DOESN'T have video capability? OH. MY. GOD. That seals it for me!
Sorry to distract from your image, Jesse.

I actually can see you two having quite complimentary personalities.
It's true, Ms. W.C.
And it would quickly become monotonous, as I would spend every show devoting myself entirely to complimenting Jesse Hirsh.
